Mahathma Gandhi was born in Porpandhar in Gujarat, which is in between Dwaraka and Somnath. Dwaraka is the place of Krishna, who is full of love. Somnath is the place of Shiva who represents awareness. So Gandhi had love with awareness to get independence with Ahimsa.
Wherever he went he organized sathsang or Namasankeerthanam or Bhajans. Means singing together. This is a very highly powerful tool to bring people together. The famous ones are "Ragupathy Ragava", "Vaishnava Janatho" etc.
During Dandi Yatra he said no one should hit the British back. but should not stop working for the salt also. So people went the British became tired of hitting people. Since no one hit them back, they could not put them in jail also which they were doing previously. They did not know what to do, so they decided and started the talk about independence. This was the biggest success of Ahimsa.
He lived a very simple life and inspired others to live in that way.
We cannot see even a
single movie Hero being depicted like him NOWADAYS. I bet, they cannot. Because
they do not know how he worked and how the power of love worked.
He said "you be the change which you want to see in the world".
