Indian way of fasting with moon's growth

If we look at the thithis and auspicious days of fasting, we will be amazed that alternative days are given.
Means, if we eat well one day, the next day we should take mild food or need to fast.

Amavasya (no moon) -  fasting for Mother divine (Saaktham)
1. Prathama
2. Dvithiya
3. Trithiya
4. Chathurthi -  fasting for Lord Vinayaka (Ganapathyam)
5. Panchami
6. Shashti      - fasting for Lord Karthikeya (Kaumaram)
7. Sapthami
8. Ashtami     - fasting for Lord Bhairava (Saivam)
9. Navami
10. Dhasami
11. Ekadashi    - fasting for Lord Vishnu (Vaishnavam)
12. Dvadhashi
13. Thriyodashi  - Pradhosham -  fasting for Devas
14. Chathudhashi

Poornima       - Full moon - fasting for Lord Shiva (Saivam)
Again the 14 thithis will be repeated.
Except Sauram all the other branches of Sanathana dharma are covered.

Pradhosham is a good time to dissolve all our dhoshas. One might follow one of the shanmathas (6 branches) and so will fast on the auspicious day which is once in 15 days. Like this, they had taken care of the health as a part of rituals.

Monthly fasting is mandated. So they gave shukla paksha (growing moon) or krishna paksha as the most important day of fasting.
E.g. Krishna paksha chathurthi
Shukla paksha shashti
Krishna paksha Ashtami

They were trying all the possible ways to keep us in good health.

JaiGurudev!
